Our first sponsored surfing competition

The surf competition had not been held for a number of years, but came back with a bang, blessed with perfect conditions at Porth Ceriad, Llyn Peninsula.

Last weekend we headed down to the first (in a few years) ‘North Wales Open’ Surf Comp. The comp was held on the Sunday and there was a massive swell on the Saturday which had pretty much every spot on the North Wales coast firing. We heard of all time sessions at all the fabled, and fickle spots, it was a pretty special weekend to be a surfer in North Wales.

Perfect peaks allowed for some deep tubes and big turns at Porth Ceriad.

After the pretty epic conditions on the Saturday, the waves and wind really calmed down on Sunday and a nice solid swell prevailed with pretty much perfect conditions at Porth Ceriad, near Abersoch.

Various competitors from the juniors to the open all entered the water early morning and with the high tide after lunch the conditions just got better and better.

Amazing performances from Ollie Laddiman, Osian Coyle, Miguel Barros, Llywelyn Williams, Urien Davies-Hughes, Rob Dodd, Llywelyn Williams, Noah Wood, Gwion Brown, Charlie Middleton…

Urien Davies-Hughes snagged some lovely little tubes and big turns to seal first place, and young local ripper Noah Wood grabbed the juniors.

We were super happy to sponsor the event and supplied a load of recycled goodies as prizes to the winner Urien.

Big thanks to Abersoch Watersports for having us and for organising the event, looking forward to next year!
