Materials and processes

With the success of our Kickstarter to create a clothing range made from seaweed fibre, we have now established a relationship with our clothing manufacturers in Lithuania.  They claim to be 'probably the cleanest clothing manufacturers in the world' and are the only manufacturers to be accredited by Greenpeace.

We are working with them closely to work on new clothing lines and to setup clothing supply chains in the UK.

Here are some of their accreditations;

Joss Socks

All the socks are hand knitted using a mixture of different wools, typically made from either 75% Merino Wool and 50% Merino Wool, 25% Viscose, 25% Polyamide.

Wool is sourced from Gründl, West Yorkshire Spinners, Regia, Cascade Heritage, Paintbox Yarns, Woolwear House, Drops, Cygnet, Opal.

The socks take around 4-6 hours per pair to make.

We are currently looking to source wool which contains seaweed fibre and hope to bring this range of socks out next year.

The socks have a 'lifetime' guarantee, if any holes appear please send them back and we will repair.  Customer feedback has been very positive, with people using them for hiking as well as just wearing around the house in the winter.

Bespoke pairs are available on request, please email:  info@inlandsea.co.uk
